My Dress....

I feel like I need to mention my dress. I don't think it seems right to have a blog and not talk about it. So, I found it! It is beautiful! I never knew how right people were when they said "you just know". It is such a crazy feeling of excitement and it makes the whole thing seem real. I knew as soon as I tried it on I felt like a Princess. It was the first dress I tried on though... so I had to try on a few others just so I could say I did... but I knew... so did my Mom. I didn't want to take it off.

Preparation...

With still 11 months left of planning for such a huge celebration comes lots of drama. The Wedding isn't until September, yet I feel like time is flying. I'm glad all the big stuff is taken care of and all that's left is the "fun" stuff, which trust me, isn't always fun... I feel like every free second I am contemplating ideas, going back and forth. I couldn't sleep last night because of my Wedding colors and how I decided to choose an amazing "poppy" color that is bright, happy, and fun, but finding anything in this "poppy" color is near impossible, I am determined to make it happen though... I am pairing the poppy with navy so it will give our Caribbean themed Wedding a sophisticated feel as well.

So, while preparing for the big day, I have to keep in perspective the real reason behind the Celebration. I thank God for my future husband and that we are who we are and where we are. I can't wait to spend my life with him and share our goals to make our dreams come true. Together.

Planning a Wedding is definitely a trip. It is a test of patience and tolerance to the people closest to you.

328 days to go...

Welcome to our blog! :-)

Most of you know us, but may not know our story... so here it is...

John and I actually met in high school, GHS, yeah! We dated, were friends, went our own ways. 10 years later he ran into one of my best friends (yeahh Onaliese!) in Maine, she got us in touch and after one weekend I knew who I wanted to be with the rest of my life...

How we got engaged:

At the Mason Jennings/Jack Johnson concert... so, on the way to the concert while John was in the restroom, I accidentally stumbled across a ring box in his back pack. I freaked out when he got back to the car and told him "I saw the box!" (nervous, excited, and confused). He laughed and showed me the box was empty and that he just had bought a pretty box for when he got  "a ring". So, after seeing the empty box, I bought it. I started laughing and telling him that I can't believe I thought he was going to propose and when he did, never do it in public... OOPS! Later during the concert in front of the entire crowd, he got down on one knee, said all that sweet mushy stuff, and pulled out the most beautiful diamond ring, tied around his neck by a satin ribbon (ah, that's why the box was empty!). He put the ring on my finger asked- AND I SAID YES!!!!

PLANNING...
So, the most important things are taken care... got the dress, caterer www.lacuisine.net , photographer www.EthanAlfredStudios.com , and the band!!!!!!! www.jdallstarband.com ... they are awesome!!! You can see the trombonist here: www.ca.youtube/watch?v=vOHimEj-84c ,who made the top 40 of America's Got Talent... who knows where he'll be in a year though (hopefully at our Wedding)...

So, only 2 days later I fell, cut my hand on glass (of course the left hand), cutting 4 nerves and a tendon... things were stalled for a bit, and I FINALLY just got the ring sized to wear on my left hand (I had to wear it on the right due to the injury).

Well, with 328 days to go, I still have a lot to do!
